Governance
The SeNSS governance structure provides a strong core executive, ensuring robust accountability whilst also providing the flexibility needed to ensure SENSS meets the needs of its community.
The SENSS Strategy Board is our highest governance structure, and is made up of senior academics from each of the 8 SENSS universities, plus the SENSS director, deputy director, and manager. It can invite others to attend its meetings, such as representatives of SENSS' non-university, or business, partners. It meets annually to agree SENSS' overall strategic aims, and to hold SENSS to account by monitoring its progress against those aims.The SENSS Management Board is made up of the Academic and Operational Leads from each of the 8 SENSS universities, members of the SENSS Student Committee, and the SENSS core team. It meets quarterly to make awards, form policy based on strategic aims, and hold SENSS to account.The SENSS Operational Group is made up of Operational Leads, who are senior Professional Services staff from each of the 8 SENSS universities, as well as the SENSS Manager, Finance Business Partner, and Co-ordinator. It can invite Finance Leads to its meetings when operational financial matters require decision. It meets quarterly to ensure that SENSS' operates in a streamlined and effective manner. The SENSS Student Committee is made up of post-graduate researchers across the 8 SENSS universities. Members of the SENSS core team attend, as required, in order to support the work of this Committee. It is responsible for shaping the DTP and its activities, ensuring that these are student-centred, and helps with building student cohort.
